Where the Sidewalk Ends-M.F.S.

Where the Sidewalk Ends is a poem by Shel Silverstein. You could make the animation for the poem by using a program like Moviemaker or Frames. My interpretation of the poem is that sometimes we have to slow down and appreciate what is just beyond the "this place where the smoke blows black, And the dark street winds and bends. Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow" as beyond that there are whole worlds to discover if you can get off that road that humanity is determined to take. Beyond the road there is a place where you can stop, take a breath and enjoy living, which our ancestors did without thinking but that we have to struggle for. In my mind this poem is telling us to slow down and enjoy the view, as tomorrow it could be gone.
